The most infuriating thing about seasons 6-8 is the sheer amount of plot armour and deus ex machinas forced into the scenes to avoid the corners that the writers wrote the characters into. For me, it wasn't the actual ending that was bad. It was the rushed pacing in season 8 and how they got to the events of the ending. It's like they missed a few episodes or something.
